Comments:

Rte 3/301 in Md, to Rte 17 in Va to Va. Beach. 3/301 is the old 95, as it were, and a much more scenic ride than taking 95 to 64. (OldRadco)

We didn't get to complete this Oct 1-6 ride but it was still a great ride. This was not a BRP ride. Only the best sections are listed here.

VA Ride: Best Roads-Motel-Restaurant
From Bristol
***** US-58 east past Independence, Galax, Hillsville, Lovers Leap (3300’) to SR 8
Miles, miles, and more miles of more tight twisties than you’d believe. Wonderful scenery, excellent pavement and proper banking. We liked it much better than Deals Gap or Wolf Pen Gap.

From Stuart
****SR 8 north past Woolwine, Floyd, and Riner to to I-81 N Great scenic twisty road, panoramic views

From Covington     (VA’s oldest covered bridge)
*****North on US 220 past Carloover, Healing Springs & Hot Springs to Warm Springs. Very scenic road with curves and interesting towns and historical attractions

From Warm Springs
*****SR 39 east past Millboro Springs, Rockbridge Baths to US 11/I-81  Very twisty, very scenic. Lots of curving and carving through tree tunnels

From Rocky Mount

*****SR 40 west/south past Ferrum and Endicott to SR 8 at Woolwine

Another very scenic twisty road. 2 covered bridges (one is off SR-8)

Motels:

*****Motel 6 @ exit 7, Bristol; This was the very best Large, clean, like new

rooms $52.00 for 2 people

***Econo Lodge @ exit 137, Clean-enough older motel @ $55.00 for 2

people

*****Econo Lodge @ exit 118 Christiansburg VA. Large, clean, like new rooms @

$55.00 for 2 people. I would have taken this instead of Salem E-L.

Best Restaurant:

*****Awful Arthur’s Seafood Company, This would make a great MTF

Lunch Ride (Hill Climber - MTF) www.awfularthurs.com  sguilliams@awfularthurs.com

I'm a little hazy after 6 months but it seems like US 58 from I-81 over to the Lovers Leap area, was the best. (Hill Climber - MTF)

Ditto on the US 58. Based on your original message, I rode it last October. Great road. (Bald Eagle - MTF)
