Fort William Henry - was a British fort that was the site of notorious atrocities committed after the Battle of Fort William Henry by the Huron tribes against the surrendered British and provincial troops following a successful French siege in 1757. That event was portrayed in James Fenimore Cooper's novel "The Last of the Mohicans." The fort had been a staging ground for British attacks against the French fort at Crown Point.

The Bloody Morning Scout - Part of the Battle of Lake George. On 8 September 8,1755, 1200 British and Mohawk troops were marching south in this ravine to Fort Edward when they were ambushed by French and Indian soldiers. Many were killed.

Bloody Pond - Part of the Battle of Lake George. British troops set out from Fort Edward to investigate what happened during the Bloody Morning Scout. They ambushed French troops at this spot and threw the bodies in this pond.Meanwhile, Col. Joseph Blanchard, commander of Fort Edward, saw the smoke from the battle in the distance and sent out Nathaniel Folsom's 80-strong company of the New Hampshire Provincial Regiment and 40 New York Provincials under Capt. McGennis to investigate.
