Western Lakes Ride

This 258 mile ride visits the Western Adirondacks. This region is gentler and more relaxed than the Eastern Adirondacks. The curves are more sweeping and the views are lakes and forest.

The ride begins with some curvy local roads heading northwest out of Lake George. Next follow Route 28 into the heart of the Adirondacks. The Hudson River runs along Route 28 here on its way to Albany and New York City.

Route 28 Hudson View

Play peek-a-boo with the Hudson and then bid adieu and ride west on Route 28 to the town of Indian Lake. Take a short detour south on Route 30 and stop at the Indian Lake Mountain View.

Return to Route 28 and follow it west past a series of lakes all the way across Adirondack Park. Leave the park and ride south to lunch at The Soda Fountain Restaurant in Remsen.

After lunch, follow Route 365 and Route 8 east back into Adirondack Park. At Piseco Lake, turn south on NY Route 10. Route 10 is one of the best curvy roads in the Adirondacks.

NY Route 10

Turn east at Caroga Lake and ride county roads to Northville. Cross Great Sacandaga Lake and follow awesome S Shore Road along the lake - great ride.

Take Route 9N back to Lake George and ride up Prospect Mountain. This nice mountain ride is open 10-5 and costs $5 per motorcycle. Be sure to park your bike near the top and take the shuttle to the summit.

Return down the mountain to the hotel.
