This 291 mile ride visits the western Adirondacks and the St. Lawrence River Valley. Highlights include NY Route 3, views of Boldt Castle, CR-3, CR-8, CR-27, NY Route 56, Tupper Lake Waterfront Park, Lake Flower, and McKenzie Pond Road.
Leave Lake Placid on NY Route 86 west to Saranac Lake. Bear left on NY Route 3 and ride west almost to the western edge of Adirondack Park. Turn right on NY Route 58 and ride west to Gouverneur.
Follow CR-12 and CR-22 to Theresa. Turn right on CR-193, right on NY Route 37, and then left on NY Route 26 and ride west to Alexandra Bay. This town is the gateway to the 1000 Islands region of the St. Lawrence River.

Continue to Market Street for great views of Boldt Castle and the St. Lawrence River. The site is also a scuba dive site for the wreck of the Islander sidewheel steamer from 1871.
Leave Alexandria Bay on Route 12 north. Turn right on CR-6 and then again on Route 37. Turn left on curvy Cr-3 and follow it and CR-8 west to Route 58. Enter Adirondack Park and continue straight onto CR-122. Turn left on CR-27 and follow it, Degrasse-Russell Rd, and Edwards-Russell Rd north to Russell. Turn right on CR-24 and ride north and east to Route 68. Turn right and ride east to Route 56. Turn right on Route 56 and enjoy one of the better curvy roads in the western part of the park.
Turn left on NY Route 3 for a great curvy ride to Tupper Lake. Notice Tupper Lake Waterfront Park on your right as you enter the town.
Continue west on Route 3 to Saranac Lake. There is a great view of Lake Flower on the right
Bear left on McKenzie Pond Road and follow it and NY Route 86 east to Lake Placid.
