Northwest Dacks Ride Preview

This 252 mile ride visits some of the best roads and scenic views west and south of Lake Placid. Highlights include Saranac Lake, Franklin CR 18 (Forest Home Rd), NY Route 30, Horseshoe Pond, Fish Creek Pond, Saranac Lake, NY Route 3, NY Route 56, Tupper Lake Waterfront Park, Simon Pond, Tupper Lake, Long Lake, Shaw Pond, NY Route 28N, and Blue Ridge Road.

The ride begins with an easy ride west on Route 86 to Saranac Lake. Next, pick
up Franklin CR 18 (Forest Home Rd) and follow this nice curvy road through the woods to Lake
Clear. Turn south on Route 30 and enjoy a gorgeous curvy ride along a series of pristine
Adirondacks Lakes. Admire Best Of the NorthEast (BONE) views at Horseshoe Pond, Fish Creek
Pond, and Saranac Lake.

Turn west on Route 3 and ride into the heart of the West Adirondacks. Ride northwest on Route 56 and enjoy one of the regions best curvy roads as it follows Cold Brook north to Colton, NY.

Ride CR-24 and then turn south on CR-27 and follow the Plumb Brook back to Route 3. Ride Route 3 East past Star Lake and Cranberry Lake to Tupper Lake Waterfront Park on Raquette Pond in Tupper Lake.

Turn east on Route 28N and ride past Shaw Pond:

Continue east on Route 28N and then turn off onto Blue Ridge Road headed east. The first part of Blue Ridge Road has some great curves:

Turn north on Route 9 in North Hudson at follow it and Route 73 back to Lake Placid.
