This 152 mile ride visits some of the best roads and views between White River Junction, Vermont and Lake Placid, NY. Highlights include VT Route 14, Camp Brook Rd/Bethel Mountain Rd, Rochester, VT, VT Route 100, VT Route 73, Brandon Gap, Mount Horrid, VT Route 53, Branbury State Park, Lake Dunmore, VT Route 125, the Champlain Bridge, Crown Point, Edgemont Rd, Ensign Pond Rd, NY Route 73, Hurricane Rd, and Cascade Lake.
The ride begins by crossing the White River and turning left on VT Route 14 north. The river views along this road are spectacular all the way to Royalton. Turn left on VT Route 107 and then right on VT Route 12 north in Bethel.
Turn left on Camp Brook Road/Bethel Mountain Road and ride west to Rochester, VT.
Turn right on VT Route 53 and ride along Lake Dunmore in Branbury State Park. Continue around the lake and then turn right on U.S. Route 7. Turn left on VT Route 125 and ride through pretty farmland to Lake Champlain. Cross the lake on the Champlain Bridge and ride to the Crown Point Historic Park in New York.
Turn right on U.S. Route 9 north and then continue straight on to NY Route 73. Turn right on Hurricane Rd and beware of sand and debris on this curvy gem. Arrive in Keene and turn right on NY Route 73.
Ride past Cascade Lake and the Olympic Sliding Center and the ski jumps.
Continue on NY Route 73 to Lake Placid.
