If you want to stay off the beaten path a bit up in this area, Michelle & I enjoyed our stay here when we visited the Owl’s Head Transportation Museum this past fall. This place is truly off the path, you are 20 min away from any stores or restaurants.

Although they have a small restaurant at the inn we don’t recommend it. Our meals were rather expensive and not very good. The Inn itself was very pleasant, our room off in the building behind the main building was very clean and private. The parking lot is loose stone, but hidden from the main road. The view from the front lawn of the rocky shore was nice to look at even on a rainy night when we were there. (OSJ)
