This is an institution for the Champlain Islands if you're riding through.  Not exactly the same ambiance of the real small-town gas/food stops, but has an excellent ambiance.  Has a good mix of sandwiches, decent coffee and while they don't serve "hot" breakfast (deal they brokered with a place down the street), they have a mix of paistries, donuts and bagels.

It's a fun place to spend half an hour walking around too, as it has a "touristy shopping but not schlocky" general store with both stuff for visitors and for the camper missing a tent peg, as well as a small bookstore upstairs.

Has gas pumps out front and an amusing row of benches divided by political party. ;)

Something I really like to do is get a nibble and a coffee and walk directly across the street; they have a fenced in bunch of picnic benches on the water so you get a great view of the lake or you can turn around and watch all the other bikes as this seems to be a popular touring route.

Another classic general store with a unique selection of named sandwich creations, many served on their store-baked rolls. Really good cookies and baked goods as well as old-tyme glass jars of per-pound candy.

Eat at the picnic tables across the street to enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Champlain. They also have low octane fuel available and public porta-potties out back.
