There are 3 places to get burgers in Vermont.

Farmhouse for fine dining (they have a soup that is a religious experience).

Shopping Bag for a burger made on a tiny convenience store grill that will choke a lion...cheap but huge.

Worthy Burger...for the best burger and fries in Vermont.  It's in this out of the way place in a tiny town in southern Vermont.  You can either park in their gravel parking area but it's often full up; we usually park at the town square and walk across the train tracks.

Set in an old railroad station, this place has an excellent feel.  They have a giant grill that takes up a lot of the room, and while too hot inside in summer, is great in the cooler months.  They also have covered seating on a screened porch and a large area of picnic tables and small tables.  Dog friendly.

You walk in and order your food at the bar, and they'll bring it to you.  They only have a few items on the menu but a ton of options to add to your burgers and fries.  I just had the buffalo cheese fries and I just kept saying "this is wrong" it was so good.  The burgers are great, nice buns, and the extras are top notch.  The fries are also cooked in tallow; if you've never had fries cooked this way, you are in for a treat.

Extensive list of drinks, and they also have the excellent Rookie's rootbeer if you don't drink.  Everything is listed on very large blackboards so you can figure out your food as you wait to order.  Most times I've gone there is usually a staffer who greets you as you come in and will chat, help you out with ordering if you're new but will also chew the fat as you wait.

I like the atmosphere, the food and people, and I drag everyone down there I can.
