NER Notes

The North Adirondacks has a great combination of spectacular scenery and blissful solitude.

This ride starts with a twisty ride on Essex CR 21 (River Road) and pretty alpine views on NY 73. Ride twisty Hurricane Road and then follow some nice county roads to Lake Champlain. Follow the coastline north past the Essex Ferry and enjoy the curves and lake views on Essex CR 28 (Highlands Road).

Stop for great views at Rainbow Falls and Ausable Chasm. Next, ride pretty NY 9N along the Ausable River followed by great curves on Haselton Road and Essex CR 18 past Whiteface Mountain to Franklin Falls Pond. Stop for lunch in Saranac Lake and then ride the great northern loop of Franklin CR 26 (Port Kent-Hopkinton Tpke), NY 30 and Franklin CR 18 (Forest Home Road).

Lunch is at the Lake View Deli (reviews) in Saranac Lake. Eat at the deli or better yet bring your food across the street to the beautiful park on Lake Flower. They have additional parking in the rear.
