NER Notes
The High Peaks region has some of the tallest mountains in the Northeast. NY 30 is the Adirondacks version of Route 100 in Vermont. It is a scenic road that runs north-south through the entire Park.
ride ride starts by traveling north to the Whiteface Mountain Base Lodge and then climbs NY 431 (BONE) to the top of Whiteface Mountain.
Continue on Forest Home Rd to beautiful NY 30, which twists past scenic Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake then climbs into the heart of the Adirondacks at Long Lake. Stop at Olmstead Dam, then lunch in Schroon Lake. Enjoy some serious twists on Route 28N, Hoffman Road, Ensign Pond Road, Tracy Road, and Hurricane Road.
Lunch is at Flanagan’s Pub & Grill or Pitkin’s Restaurant in Schroon Lake.
