NER Notes

This ride starts with some great views along the CT shore. The ride visits Branford Point for great views of the Sound. Next, ride some fun curvy roads to CT River views in Essex.

The ride becomes increasingly curvy approaching lunch in Chester. After lunch, ride some great curvy backroads that will make you forget that you are in Connecticut.

This was a fun ride to do on a very early spring day, with a surprising amount of twisty little backroads. The ocean views at the beginning of the ride are great, though the coastal area was pretty busy even in the off-season, so it may not be the best ride for middle of the season. Lots of nice old colonial architecture to enjoy all over this region of connecticut.

The lunch stop in quaint little Chester was a perfect break, though wouldn't really accommodate a very large group. We did spot a nice picnic area shortly after leaving Chester that would make a great spot to eat sandwiches from Simon's when the town is more crowded during high season.

This is a great ride with scenery and curves for those in the New Haven-Essex Region. One forgets that this is a densely populated area as the route consists of little traveled roads.
