NER Notes

This is a wonderful ride in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts and often used for NER’s Fall Foliage Ride. Ride begins at the Shell/DD in Orange.

Best Of the NorthEast (BONE) Roads: Wendell Road, Leverett Road, MA 116, Baptist Corner Rd., Adamsville Rd, MA 9A, MA 2 (Mohawk Trail), Mount Greylock Rd, VT 100, Tunnel St., and Bardswell Ferry.

Lunch will be at the Golden Eagle Restaurant located at the beautiful Hairpin of MA Route 2 (Mohawk Trail.) Arrive by noon when they open.

The route is split into two legs to avoid crossover confusion on some GPS units.
Part 1 = 99 miles.
Part 2 = 92 miles.
Gas is at 41 miles, 88 miles and at 171 miles.

    Excellent ride.

    thank you for whomever put the little notes in the GPS menu bar - "slow ahead" etc. was kind of funny - but very helpful.

    great roads.

    comment - at the end of leg 1 the last turn is a right - but should be a left to take you up mt greylock.  Greylock is closed now - so we loaded track 2 - and skipped to the third waypoint (shaping point?)
