NER Notes

This is a full day ride stretching through the southeastern Massachusetts counties of Bristol, Norfolk, and Plymouth. While isolated roads and twisties aren’t numerous in this part of the state, this route strings together several nice local roads, picking carefully around the busier population centers and intersections to keep the wheels turning. The ride showcases the non-coastal terrain from this part of the state – from rocky wooded hills in northern RI, through coastal plain marshes and cranberry bogs, to the sandy pine barrens of Myles Standish State Park – where you’ll find the best twisties in eastern Mass. There are several several nice lake views.

Lunch is in Marion at Brew Fish Bar & Eatery, or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy by the herring ladder at picturesque Oliver Mills park in Middleboro (the fish are usually running in April-May). Fuel and restroom opportunities have been pointed out, and there are a couple good ice cream options along the way as well (seasonal).
