Southwest Vermont is a great place to ride. VT 140 is one of the best twisty roads in the northeast. Other Best of New England Roads include Skyline Drive, VT 7A, VT 100 and VT 100A. Mount Equinox (fee) commands great views of the area.
This ride follows VT 100 south to VT 140. Next travel along some scenic and hilly farm roads through Washington County, NY. Stop for lunch at famous Steiningers in Salem. Ride over the Rexleigh, Shusan, and Eagleville Covered Bridges and then follow the Batten Kill on Route 313 back to VT. to NY. The ride then follows pretty Route 7A (BONE Road) through Arlington and then climbs Skyline Drive (BONE Road) to the summit of Mount Equinox (BONE View). VT 100 through Weston is one of Vermont’s prettiest roads. While in Weston, check out the original Vermont Country Store.
