I live near the easternmost end of this loop. Pleasant, very twisty back-road route with a few more open sections for variety. Lots of shoreline views around various reservoirs.
One nice aspect is that the route intersects or runs parallel to highways in several places without using them (I-684 and Saw Mill in NY and the Merritt Parkway in CT), which makes it easy to bail out and head home if you're pressed for time.
I've only ridden it once and noted a few slightly awkward tee intersections in the published direction, where the road you're on is sloped uphill and you have to turn left from a dead stop across traffic onto a busier road. Reversing the direction may alleviate this, but I haven't had the chance to try it yet.
At the time of writing (October 2021) there are a couple of road construction issues... one in Brewster NY where a bridge is being reconfigured and one in the Greenwich/Stamford area where there's a closed road. These trigger U-turns/awkward reroutes, so heads up and follow the road signs instead of being a slave to your GPS.
